1912 V nickel?

i just got this coin today and realized that its probably worth something. I looked on ebay and it ranges from like 15 - 200 dollars and dont know what the difference is. this coin has 1912 clearly written and you can see "ERT" from liberty on the crown on one side and on the other everything is readable... whats its worth and any other details would be great

A coin with the "ERT" in "LIBERTY" visible is probably in Very Good condition, according to this grading guide:

"GRADING V NICKELS
ABOUT GOOD / AG-3= Date barely visible all lettering very faint.
GOOD / G-4= Liberty's head must be outlined, no small art details show.All letters on reverse side will be very worn but readable. The word liberty, on headband, will not show, even under magnification
VERY GOOD / VG-8= At least 3 letters in the word liberty located on the headband must show. Any of the letters will qualify. The letters may be worn but must be readable. The other letters may be worn away. ...
FINE / F-12= All letters in the word liberty will be readable but weak. The letter "I" must be present."

If so, it probably fetches slightly more than the average circulated price, $0.75, in the about.com price list, but not much more. The 1912 dates, and many post-1900 dates, are very common, and although they're typically found well-worn, they're still relatively common even in VG condition. (Very Good is still a relatively low grade for coins.)

As noted in the about.com price guide, 1912 V Nickels minted at the Denver Mint, with a "D" mintmark, sell for slightly higher prices, and those minted at the San Francisco Mint, with an "S" mintmark, are quite valuable - selling for tens of dollars on-up.

Here's an example of a 1912-S in an eBay auction: you can see the "S" mintmark on the reverse (tails) side, between the dot to the left of the word "CENTS" and the edge of the coin (the "D" mintmark on the 1912-D would be in the same location):
