I found a 1938D, double headed buffalo nickle, could it be real? if so how much would such a thing be worth?

It was found in some rolls of nickles that haven't moved in 40 years.

It is a magician's coin. There is no way that it could have come from the mint. The obverse die has a different size shank than the reverse dies so two heads or two tails coins are not possible. There are times when the two dies "clash", that is hit each other with no planchet between them. This can cause the image of the two dies imbedded into the other. I have seen nickels with the heads showing on the reverse but the other image is there also. Magician's coins have been around since at least the 1880's and maybe a lot longer.
