Nickels

How come pennies and nickels are bigger that dimes?

You know, since dimes are worth more, you know? Just curious.:)

Back in the day pre 1965. One ounce silver was a dollar quarters were a quarter ounce. Dime was a tenth ounce of silver. Pennies copper. Nickle nickle. Although metal content has changed size hasn't because it would cause vending problems.
